When I discovered that the Disney Animators were coming out with Alice, I was relieved and excited. Especially since they made Christoph (Frozen), Aladdin, Small World English boy, Tinkerbell, Lilo, etc non-princesses. I love that she is wearing tights and came with a little Dinah. My only complaint with these dolls is that they’re always looking to the side or upwards, like their eyes are facing >_> or *_* upwards like they’re thinking but in a cutesy way – if that makes sense.
Sailor Moon was a gift from my ex-boyfriend’s mother (when we were together), she got me this doll from Barnes & Noble for my birthday (this past June) and this chibi Serena/Tsukino is adorable! The left arm is sewed that way to be pointing up.
Horror Film Review *SPOILERS*
Lights Out:
I loved the idea of this movie. It offered something different than your run of the mill demonic possession movies. What I didn’t like:
- This movie heavily relied on Jump Scares, which I guess it kinda had to since Diana only appears in the dark and when the lights literally go out. During the daytime she’s hiding in the shadows and stalking the main characters/family members.
- Every single time Diana lunges at someone the camera immediately cuts to the next scene and we never actually see her physically hurt someone. That was frustrating. Like she’ll attack the little boy but in the next scene he’s all good & dandy – no scratches/bites/bruises/etc.
- The ending is a bit predictable when you see how connected Diana and the mother character really are.
- I know the gimmick if this film was that Diana is allergic to the sun/ultra-sensitive to light/severely burns with direct exposure to light, etc. but after awhile you get used to her popping out at night that it became no longer scary but tiresome/boring. Maybe if they sprang for the R rating and showed the action of when she attacks someone it would have spiced shit up.
- Annoyances: the boyfriend of the older sister – needy/stage 5 clinger and dumb as fuck, I really wanted his character to die, but no, the fucking cuck lived. The older sister warns the little boy “Are you sure you want to stay at my apartment, I have scary posters?” Like what the fuck…? Oooh so edgy and metal to have spooky-looking posters!!! And if you loved your bro that much, you could easily take the posters down while he stayed with you since your mom is psycho? Just a suggestion.
Well that’s all for now. Peace mo’fukkas
